I announced a contest today for the design of a logo and the pages of this site.  I wanted the site to feel warm, safe, and secure.  I am guessing that it will probably be more men that search for fire starters and thus come to this site, while it will be more women who search for something related to food storage.  Hopefully, the final design will appeal to both men and women, but if I had to chose one, it would be that it appeal to the women.

This site has a history of helping people. 

RmhDayton.org used to be a site for the Ronald McDonald House in Dayton.  Then just like a building sometimes changes owners, the domain changed owners until it came into my hands.  Now it has the opportunity to help people in various ways from emergencies to simply having fun in the outdoors. 

I’ve decided to sell a product called InstaFire, which is a firestarter and fuel that is made out of wood pellets, treated volcanic rock and wax.  It can be used in an emergency to cook or warm food when power’s not available. Alternatively, it could be used to start a romantic fire in the fireplace or make starting that Scout fire in the wilderness a whole lot easier. 

Someday (maybe really soon) I may also sell food that’s meant for emergencies.  A close friend of mine suggested I start selling potato flakes because that’s an emergency fuel for the body.
